Structural and Parametric Optimization of Fuzzy Control and Decision Making Systems

* This work is partially supported by NSF Grant # 1344954 and Fulbright Program (USA). Abstract –This paper analyzes various methods of structural and parametric optimization for fuzzy control and decision-making systems. Special attention is paid to hierarchical structure selection, rule base reduction, and reconfiguration in the presence of incomplete data sets. In addition fuzzy system parameter optimization based on gradient descent, Kalman filters, H-infinity filters, and maximization of envelope curve values, are considered for unconstrained and constrained cases. Simulation results show the validity of the proposed methods.
